                YOUTH CONGRESS ON INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY - 2019

 



  
Y4IT YOUTH CONGRESS 2019 was held at the UP DILIMAN on September 27, 2019. The Gordon College - College of Computer Studies attend this annual information technology event in the Philippines. Aimed primarily at college students, professionals, educators, IT experts and enthusiasts, Y4IT is an enabling event for today's youth and aspires to recognize young Filipinos as key drivers in the dynamic IT industry.

The congress starts with a warm welcome address by Prof. Ariel Betan Assistant Vice President for Administration of University of the Philippines System. Discuss about some of the Mobile App Development Trends to watch out in 2020. The example are : The Artificial Intellengence, On-Demand Apps, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, Wearable Apps, Blockchain, Chatbots, the Internet of Things or what we called (IoT) and many more.

I would like to practice more to enhance my skills as a developer.

The Gordon College College of Computer Studies participated a worthy Seminar called "GO NEGOSYO,SIGN UP: ANGAT LAHAT SA DIGITAL!" The Biggest Mobile Application Summit and Expo in the Philippines para sa Negosyo on September 23,2019 at World Trade Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

Sen. Migz Zubiri and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, along with PA Joey Concepcion are tackling the need to create a balance between encouraging growth in the digital industry and government regulation.

Along with these digital platforms, Go Negosyo aims to highlight in the summit the impact of platforms in helping achieve inclusive growth and prosperity for all.

There are many Booths can be seen outside of the event. It shows many platform idea and application developed to solve our problem example: Application for Transportation,pets etc .

I've learned a lot in this summit like How they come up with those Ideas? How did they earned income through mobile application? Step-by-step process of how they provide an application to be ease the process.

As an Information Technology Student this summit gave me an idea on how to develop an application and what are the importance. I'm currently developing and Application. So, for me that was the best seminar i have. this event is successful and well-organize.

Parent and Student Orientation on UniFAST/UAQTEA



GORDON COLLEGE: COLLEGE OF COMPUTER STUDIES - parent and STUDENT ORIENTATION about uNIFAST/UAQTEA




UNIFAST grants financial aid to poor yet deserving college students


 Last July 8-12, 2019 The Gordon College - College of Computer Studies conducting an     orientation that tackled about UNIFAST/UAQTEA. At the orientation discussed about the recent   Act signed by our President, Mr. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. 

 The Commission on Higher Education and Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary
 Education(UniFAST). Release of P4.8 Billion TES (is one of the four major components of Republic   Act 10931 also known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or UAQTEA). 
 It is a grants-in-aid program that designed for poor students enrolled in public and private   Institution, Colleges and Universities. It will provide free quality education to deserving students.
 This is funding by our national government.  
 
 After the approval of RA 10931, The Gordon College organized the UniFAST orientation for both   students and also to their parents/guardians who will benefit from the act. Explaining the details   by details goals and expectation of Students and Parents Familiarized the concept of that Republic   Act 10931. 

 As of now the act are applied to some institution, colleges and universities. As a simple student 
 this a big help for us. because our school The Gordon College granted this law. This is an opportunity to  continue our dreams and goals in our life.

GC CCS Orientation

All Universities, Colleges & Institutions provide incoming freshmen with information about different clubs, organizations and also the very important is the rules and regulations of the campus. School orientation is what we called the period before the start of an academic year. Orienting and welcome all new students during this period. 

The Gordon College - College of Computer Studies (CCS), Conducting an Orientation and Recognition 2019 for New and Old Student last September 4, 2019 held on Gordon College Function Hall exactly start at 9 in the morning orientation ends at 12:30 in the afternoon. 

The Freshmen orient include the overview of the available clubs and organizations that operate on our school. Information about the Gordon College Varsity, Pase Ballo, Pase Cuerdas, Pase Voci and Pase Teatro. A School group with is The Gordon College - Student Supreme Council, The purpose of that it gives the students an opportunity to develop the leadership by out of school activities and service projects. "The voice of many students" . And also the recognition of Faculty member led by (Dean, College of Computer Studies) Dr. Erlinda Casela-Abarintos. The faculty of  Gordon College CCS discussed about the GC CCS All Events. (ex : Acquaintance party is a college party held at the beginning of the semester where students have the opportunity to meet each other.
